Splash of Flavor 2015: Nachos at La Casa de Pedro

LILA C., Watertown Splash staff

When it’s time for dinner, a tasty meal is very important. Something filled with gooey cheese, something with the perfect crunch of a flavorful tortilla chip.

Nachos? Nachos.

But … on the East Coast, during winter, you might think it’s impossible to get some awesome nachos. Ask anyone, they’ll tell you to wait for summer. But, they’re wrong.

La Casa de Pedro in Watertown is an amazing restaurant where you can enjoy delicious food from all over Latin America.

The atmosphere is exotic. From comfortable booths to tall tables, with dim lighting and some well-placed palm trees, you feel transported the minute you step through the door.

The main event, though, is the meal. While you could get anything from the wonderfully mouth-watering menu, I would suggest the nachos. These nachos are the perfect combo of crunchy chips, melty cheese, warm, soft black beans, salty chicken, and delectable pork. (I get it without guac, chipotle sour cream, or pico de gallo).

Sure, it’s off the Tapas menu, but it’s delicious and really filling. These nachos are everything nachos should be: gooey, cheesy, and delectable.

You’ll leave with a full stomach, and wondering when is the soonest time you can come back for more.
