Book review: “If a Tree Falls at Lunch Period” By Gennifer Choldenko

Book review: If a Tree Falls at Lunch Period By Gennifer Choldenko

FRANCESCA B., Watertown Splash staff reporter

When you first look at this book, you may recognize the author. Gennifer Choldenko is the author of a book that all of the students at Watertown Middle School read in 2008 called, “Al Capone Does My Shirts.” I think that book is geared toward older audiences, while this book is for younger kids (sixth grade and under). Younger kids will enjoy it and may like this book better than her others.

The book is told from the point of view of two kids in middle school. Walk is a boy who moves to the school at the beginning of the year with his mom. Kirsten becomes his friend and then things start to get weird.

You may think you know what will happen, but there is a big twist at the end. Read it to find out!

Rating: Three stars out of five.
