This year, the Watertown Middle School sixth grade Cluster 1 got a new math teacher, Ann Palermo. She moved here from Cunniff Elementary and she is loving her new job!

Ms. Palermo was at the Cunniff School for three years, so it wasn’t easy to leave her friends.

“It was crazy at first moving from one school to another and adjusting to the different surroundings,’’ she said. “The hardest month this year for me was September because I didn’t know what to expect, but it got easier.”

Caitlyn D. is a seventh-grader at Watertown Middle School who had Ms. Palermo when she was a fifth-grade teacher at the Cunniff.

“I loved Ms. Palermo, she was my favorite teacher,” said Caitlyn. “She really cares about her students and she has a great personality.”

Her past students say that she was a lot of fun and that they did many awesome activities.

“I wanted to become a teacher because I like helping kids learn in a fun way,” said Ms. Palermo, who loves tennis and gives lessons after school.

Many of Ms. Palermo’s past students love her as a teacher and a friend and they hope that she has a great first year at Watertown Middle School.
