So many trips worth revisiting
Students, staff saw a lot in their summer travels
Over the summer, kids and teachers from Watertown Middle School went to many different places around the world.
Many people interviewed said they stayed in and around Massachusetts. Some of the more popular places were Cape Cod, New Hampshire, and Maine. Meanwhile, others said they stayed at home or went out of the state and country.
Maddie R., a seventh-grader, went to Chicago over the summer. She traveled with her family for four days and stayed in a hotel. She went in July with good weather. She went to a Cubs game, where, even though they lost, she had a lot of fun.
Another thing she saw was the Harry Potter exhibit that is now at Boston’s Museum of Science.
“It was really interesting to see the props that were in the movies,” she said about the exhibit.
Maddie had lots of fun in Chicago and would love to go again. She would definitely recommend it to her fellow classmates.
Matt L., also from the seventh grade, went to California in July. He stayed in San Francisco. He went to the beach and to many theme parks, including Great America Theme Park. Two of the rides he went on were the Drop Tower Scream Zone and the Vortex.
Another place he went in Hollywood was the premiere of the movie “Hancock.”
“The premiere was awesome! We saw all of the stars that were in the movie,” he said.
Even though there were some rainy days, he said he had a great time with his family and would love to go back.
Brian Donato, a teacher in the seventh grade, went to Cape Cod almost every weekend over the summer to stay at his family’s house in Mashpee. One thing he likes to do there is play wiffle ball with his family in the wiffle ball stadium he made in his back yard.
He said he went to the beach sometimes with his family, and that his great-grandfather made the beach in front of their house.
Mr. Donato really likes going to the Cape Cod to spend time with his family and friends.
