Tony Massarotti, a sports writer and broadcaster, went to the Hosmer School and East Junior High in Watertown, Mass. He started his journalism career by writing for local papers. Tony claimed, “I never thought it would lead to what it lead to.”

What it led to is a job writing for the Boston Globe and Boston.com, as well as his job as a talk show host on the sports station 98.5 FM “The Sports Hub”.

His favorite sport to play is baseball — although he claims to not be very good — and he enjoys covering the Red Sox. He loves going to all the games, home and away. He said, “Traveling is the best part of the job when you’re young.”  But traveling has become difficult for him with a family back home.

As a member of the Baseball Writers Association of America, Tony has passes and can go to any game he wants, and 95 percent of the time he sits in the press box. Tony said he enjoys both his jobs (journalist and radio show host) and says that both have their advantages. He likes talking on the radio because it’s quick, fast, and easy. But he prefers writing to talking, he said, because it is more detailed and you don’t have to worry about forgetting anything. You can take your time and make sure the story is the best it can be.

That just shows you that by working hard, Tony was able to achieve a job that he loves.
