What class are you in for Period 4 on B days? Do you like the class you are in? Well, the photography class could be for you! Photography is run by Heather Smith, the seventh-grade Cluster 3 science teacher, and is for seventh- and eighth-graders to take as an elective.

Photography has amazing things going on and all the students seem to really like the class. They have a lot of freedom when they take pictures, which is a great thing!

Seventh-grader Jordan Hoover said she really likes photography and she has learned special skills, such as how to set the lighting and focusing. Seventh-grader Lena Karaguesian said her favorite project was the Alphabet project.

Eighth-grader Zoe Doyle said the Alphabet project helped her look more closely in the world.

“If you really look closely, there’s a lot more out there,” she said.

Zoe’s favorite project was the Force Prospective project. Eighth-grader Sana Rafiq’s favorite project was the December project. For the December project, Ms. Smith gave her students a list of objects that have to do with holidays. They had the opportunity to pick 15 of the 31 options on the list.

Sana has also learned many different terms that relate to photography and what they mean. She said it has helped when she is looking at photos that she can name what kind of photo it is and why it is like that.

If you like to take pictures and want a great teacher to teach more about taking pictures, the photography class might be just right for you. All the students like the class and it’s a fun environment to be in every B day.
