There are a lot of people out there who need our help. Luckily, Watertown Middle School has come to the rescue.

A sixth-grade geography teacher, Chris McDermott, and a special ed teacher, Andrew Allegro, are leading this year’s Coats for Kids donation drive.

Coats for Kids started Oct. 21 and ends Jan. 2 — which is the day the school returns from winter break.

How does this work?

First off, a person can bring in coats and put them in a bin near the doors at the Waverly Avenue entrance. Next, the teachers will come and check the coats to make sure they are in good condition. Then they take all the coats to an Anton’s Cleaners location, and the people there clean the coats.

Finally, the coats are given to people who need them most to use this winter and survive the cold.

Each time you donate a coat to a person in need, you will feel good.

The goal is to get 600 coats, so hurry up!
